Kmart: Gerber Childrenswear Gift card Promotion

Kmart is offering Kmart giftcards for purchasing Gerber Childrenswear clothing. The more you spend, the higher the gift card you will get. Spend $25 and get a $10 Kmart gift card; spend $15 and get a $5 Kmart gift card.

Do You Do Freezer Cooking or Once A Month Cooking??

Do you do any freezer cooking?? Since I started work it seems like I struggle once I get home with what to serve for Dinner. It gets late in the evening when we eat and it just isn't well planned.

Last week Econofoods had 80% hamburger on sale for $1.69/lb. I bought about 25 lbs and decided that I was going to change our Dinner planning a little bit. Unconsciously I was doing what a lot of other bloggers do - they cook a few different meals and freeze them for later. Some may call it freezer cooking and others call it Once A Month Cooking.

I didn't get too creative and I still have hamburger in the freezer, but I did end up making sloppy joes, meatloaf, spaghetti & meatballs and lasagna. I put them all in the freezer and I pulled them out the morning I was planning to make that meal. It was WONDERFUL!!! My family had a meal at a decent time and I enjoyed the extra time spent just getting everything else ready!!

So, when I received the email from Crystal at Money Saving Mom and her plan to do a day of freezer cooking, I couldn't pass it up.

I have several ideas of what I am going to make and with Ken's having a 4 Day Sale on chicken (Until today - Saturday!!! Which I just found out about!), I will be making meals with chicken too!! If anyone has any recipes on what to make DEER with, please send me your recipes!! I seem to make it only a handful of ways!

Here is what I plan to make:

Shepherds pie - we have leftover mashed potatoes from last week and my family LOVES this!
Swedish meatballs
Chicken Burritos
Chicken and Rice
Breakfast Burritos
Bacon Wrapped Chicken
Chicken Parmesan
BBQ Pulled Pork (for sandwiches)
Chili
Pizza Pockets - these will make great after school snacks
Chewy Granola Bars
Turkey Noodles and Wild Rice Soup - my family LOVES this soup! I bought 5 turkeys at Thanksgiving time so I have plenty of cut up turkey in the freezer - plus 2 whole turkeys left to cook.

This may seem a little ambitious but a lot of the above items just have to be thrown together and let cook....chili, BBQ pulled pork and Turkey Noodle and Wild Rice Soup. These will be cooking while I do other things so I don't anticipate it to be too much. I'll let you know how I do!!
